About

The Birth of Spirit Promotions

Spirit began in 1999, where Martin 'Freeky' Freeman arranged private parties in Haywards Heath. Playing in local pubs and organising parties for friends.

It wasn't long before Spirit began organising outdoor events which started with a charity fund raising event for Sussex Horse Rescue Centre. The party was a great success, creating several opportunities for Spirit to be involved in other fundraising events..

Spirit Promotions now excels in creating a fun, exhilerating atmosphere, and has gathered a reputation over the years for its reliability as a great night. For anyone not familiar with the flavour of the night, you can expect anything from uplifting house, to the more pumping, underground sound of progressive trance.

Rest assured that whatever the style being played, it's always the finest selection of music the genre has to offer.

Party History

What follows is a few of the most memorable parties, and links to the gallery photo's taken at the time.

Saturday October 28th 2000 of that year Spirit held a successful Halloween party at Lingfield leisure club in Surrey where it was sold to a capacity crowd of 230 people.

Friday December 8th 2000 Submerged dance party took place at The Broadway night club in Uckfield during the time of the floods, hence the name. The party was another great success.

Saturday March 31st 2001 - Spring into Summer took place again at Lingfield leisure club selling out to over 230 people again.

Saturday July 28th 2001 Is when Noise 'n' the Wood took place, if you came to this one you will remember it well as the hottest night of the year. It was also recently screened on neighbours from hell as home video footage from bad neighbours. Over 1400 people safely attended the party at Bones Lane, in Horley after having one week to relocate the party from the original venue shown on the flyer. This wouldn't have been possible without meeting the local rave looney Charlie Rashbrook. Thank you Charlie!

Spirit organised three other private outdoor parties for friends that year and also played for Tolerance in Brixton, London twice that year.

Saturday March 2nd 2002 was kicked off with the monster dance party at Lingfield Leisure club, again successfully selling out to over 200 people.

During 2002 Spirit organised lots of outdoor events taking place in woodlands, fields, and anywhere it was possible to play music. Spirit averaged one party per fortnight when the weather was kind.

Saturday November 9th 2002 I played alongside Spike for TNT at the Pressure Point, Brighton. These club nights are always a great success if you get the chance go along, the music is excellent.

Every second Thursday of every month starting on November 14th '02 Spirit has held parties at The Volks Tavern, Maderia drive, Brighton called 'Gotcha' and 'Feel The Buzz', these have been a great success. Please see Spirit Events for future dates at the Volks Tavern.

Saturday December 14th 2002 I played for Progression Records on a River Thames boat party called 'Anything Goes' which is soon to be relocated at the chunnel Club in Vauxhall, London. These parties are a must as the music is excellent, and the atmosphere electric.

13th February 2003 I flew to Thailand for a holiday and took my records with me and a cd mix to give to local clubs on

Koh Samui. I was successful in one club called the Green Mango in Chewang where I played to an audience of 1400 people and my music went down extremely well with the crowd.

Saturday 21st June 2003 - Summer Solstice Sound System party, this was a great success with over 1000 people safely attending and having lots of fun. Thank you everyone for coming along.
