2002

What a great fun year for outdoor parties!

Thanks to a good crew of people the Spirit of Mr Freeky Freeman blasted some of the most unusual parties in some of the most fantastic venues Sussex has ever seen or heard.

28/7/2001 | Noize 'n' the Wood

If you came to this one you will remember it well as the hottest night of the year. It was also recently screened on neighbours from hell as home video footage from bad neighbours. Over 1400 people safely attended the party at Bones Lane, in Horley after having one week to relocate the party from the original venue shown on the flyer. This wouldn't have been possible without meeting our local rave looney Charlie Rashbrook. Thank you Charlie!

I also organised three other private outdoor parties for my friends that year and also played forTolerance in Brixton, London twice that year.

Hand of Hope - Saturday September 23rd 2000

This was a fund raising event in aid of the national children's trust, Tadworth court, Tadworth, Surrey. Spirit raised £1000 to donate to the charity. The event took place at Cross Oaks Lane, Horley, Surrey. Over 1300 people safely attended the party which again was a great success. Thanks to Double Decks Sound and Light in East Grinsted for supplying the sound system which was engineered by Simon also Thanks to Millenium Marquees, HoneyWood Farm, Oakwood Hill, Surrey. Thanks to everyone for their support.

Sussex Horse Rescue Centre

Spirit started in 1999 by arranging private parties in Haywards Heath. Playing in the local pub and organising parties for friends.

It wasn't long before Spirit began organising outdoor events which started with a charity fund raising event for Sussex Horse Rescue Centre. The party was a great success, creating several opportunities for Spirit to be involved in other fundraising events..

July 22nd 2003 | Spirit by Martin Freeky Freeman

The Spirit I believe in is my own
It is living and very much at home
The energy that I found
I took from the ground
Why fly to get high
Nature's elements told me why
They whispered to me
Send beautiful music to the sky

Behind the scenes
I create my own dreams
With good friends behind me
And great music to inspire me
I play it out loud
And feel the buzz from the Crowd

When I'm on stage
Behind the decks I stand
With nature hand in hand
I look upon happy and gurning faces
I have played in some magical places
In woods and in fields
On beaches, barns and clubs
Even in Thailand - what a buzz

They may be whacky
But they make people happy
My artwork so colourful
The creatures are mad
When u look at these backdrops
U never feel sad

The lights twisting and flashing
Make the marquee look ever so dashing

When the music stops
The crowd roar
That's when u know that they want more
When I spin the last tune
I shout out
We will be back soon

I thank u
